Hello from Basetool Labs

This is the first post on the Basetool Labs blog, so it is worth saying who is writing and why.

Basetool Labs is a senior, nearshore software studio, from Romania, working out of Constanța and Bucharest. We take a brief and ship production software in roughly four to eight weeks. We build with AI-augmented engineering, but a senior engineer signs off on every delivery, with evals and a security review, before it reaches your users. The code is yours: clients own 100% of it, no strings attached. We also build our own product, Sussur, a real-time sales coach, so we feel the same deadlines and trade-offs we ask clients to trust us with.

This blog exists because most of what we have learned does not fit in a sales deck. The interesting part is the workflows that actually hold up under a deadline, the conversations that surprised us, and the things we tried that did not work. We would rather write those down honestly than pretend the process is tidier than it is.

So we will write here about:

• Technical deep-dives on things that surprised us
• Honest retros, including what did not work
